Udham Singh 2021: A MasterPiece

"Tell people I was revolutionary"

It is not just a biopic but an outstanding depiction of historical facts.

Trust me it is not one of the best, but THE BEST PERIOD-DRAMA/BIOPIC ever made in the history of Bollywood.

The scenes are so captivating and Vicky Kaushal's performance is so convincing that one will lose oneself in the period drama.

It captures the life of Shaheed-i-Azam Sardar Udham Singh and how he assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, who was responsible for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

The movie goes in roundabout with flashbacks and runs in different timelines yet tells the story in a very realistic manner. Vicky plays the role of Udham Singh, and riding on his character, the relatively unknown story of the revolutionary.

No melodrama: just the direct hit of reality. The long, unhurried scenes and dim yet holding music do the trick of holding on to your seats.

Surprisingly, I was unaware of this movie till I saw an advertisement for it and suddenly decided to watch it. I am very impressed by how this biopic turned out. Vicky Kaushal is great, the supporting cast is great. The sets and the scenes genuinely capture the strains and pace of that period.

Overall, it's a ten out of ten (10/10) biopic, though some viewers may argue that feelings can't be rated.
